oversized tires???

Before too long my 98 Ranger is going to need some tires. My previous F150 had 265's on it and the originals were 235's, made the truck look like a F250 almost!.

Anyway, the original tire size on my Ranger is 225/70R15. I was thinking of putting on some 235 A/T's. Help make it look alittle beefier. I am also aware that this will put alittle more torque load on the drivetrain and will increase my top end somewhat. This is why I only want to go to 235. I think the 235's will really help in apperance. My main question is, how far off will my speedometer be thrown off??????? I.e by how many mph will it be off???? Tks all,,,,91

Tks guys for the specs and for the site. Looks like I don't have too much to worry about as far as getting pulled over;) Tks again,,,,,91

Most factory speedometers are slightly optimistic, so slightly larger tires may actually make it more accurate-but throw off the odometer a bit. My odometer is accurate to 0.3 miles per 100 (checked on my last long road trip), but me speedometer reads 3 mph fast at 60. Go figure.
