Over-equipped??

Well, today, I sprung for a Flex rotary with a 4" plate. So, we have the new Flex rotary - thanks Phil @ DD - a FLex DA, 9227 Rotary, and a Cyclo. Too much??

No way...now you have a big rotary and a little one. Plus you never know when a machine is going to crap out on you in the middle of a big detail.

If that's over equiped then I'm in serious trouble here. I have the Dewalt Rotary the Makita Rotary The G110 the Dewalt 4333 D/A and enough BP's and PAd's to last a lifetime for each it seems.

Yeah, if I end up like most of you guys, I won't have to change pads during a job: just put down one machine and pick up the next!!:2thumbs:

Hey now that's a trade secret LOL can't be telling everyone that little tidbit.. Who needs a stock of $10 pads when you can have a stock of $250 machines :spot

+1 Each machine can serve additional purposes, as well as paint correction. I use my Cyclo and the UDM as scrubbers. The G110 sits in its case until I need to go mobile. The Flex is an option when the rotary just does not seem to be getting the job done (it is not often, but it happens).

Just think of it as being prepared for almost anything.

Actually, that works well for me and I do it all the time.

After all the curves on the Jag I just finished, the 4" pad on the Flex rotary will be WAY helpful!!

On the (older) Jags I do, I find that the overhanging portion of a *larger* pad works better than the 4" ones. Kinda surprises me every time it works out that way  Seems like the housing of the polisher always gets in the way with smaller pads.

I'm afraid I'll catch an edge going one way and another going the other.

Yeah, lots of uneven panels on some of those cars. I use a *LOT* of tape...if I'm even remotely concerned I tape stuff off and hope there aren't any issues like adhesive residue.
