OTC '04 996 Carrera Cabriolet

This car is an annual sprucing-up. The car has gone through the automatic car wash too many times, but is garaged both at home and at work, stored for the winter AFAIK. Last year's LSP of NXT 2.0 was still beading strong, FWIW.

The car was pretty hammered considering its somewhat posh existence.

I realize the front plate is bent. I didn't have any tools on me to fix it--I'll do that in the next week, though.

Products:

Meguiars Deep Crystal car wash

Mothers Pre Wax Cleaner (by hand)

3M Rubbing Compound w/ 6" Ryobi orbital buffer w/ foam bonnet

Mothers Power Polish w/ buffer/foam

Meg's NXT 2.0

Meg's Quick Detailer

Turtle Wax Hot Shine tire dressing (blotted w/ a shop towel)

Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish on exhaust tips

Dirty shots:

Thanks (about the work).

I wish it were my 996. My beater is the crappy Civic in the background of the first shot. :doh

Nice job man.

Eventhough they say Porche's design team is "lazy", I still think the 911 and 996 are dead sexy(when properly detailed of coarse).

Yeah, the 996 gets some flak for being ugly (I guess because of the headlights), but I always thought it was an attractive car. That said, I'm more of a 993 fan, myself.

I don't think their designers are lazy. They have tradition to uphold. Like the Corvette, every new generation should be immediately identifiable as a 911, IMHO.
