Why did the chicken cross road? DUH Because the Zombie appocolypse mob was going to eat it!
RANDOM!
This Porsche came in after someone decided to clean the side of it with an SOS pad. The paint was in really bad shape on the drive side doors. So my goal was to fix the problem with SOS then do a light correction on the rest of the vehicle as thats all it really needed. Nothing to crazy but OMG this car has hard paint, I put up there with Audi and VW hardness( I am so SMRAT... Wait I mean SMART!) So here's how it went down.
First looked a customer with totally shocked look shaking my head and trying not to give off the "were dropped on your head as baby vibe"
Agreed on a price and...
Washed the car like normal 2 buckets grit gaurds PH balanced soapy goodness
Decon on car using speedy prep towel
Messure doors to ensure correction could be carried out
Test a spot, First using 3M perfect it compound and orange CCS pad didn't touch it just made the scratches shiny!
After which I decided 2k by hand followed by 3k sanding on a DA, Followed my rotary wool 3m perfect it, Then SRC Compound on my flex with orange CCS pad, SRC finishing on white CCS pad with flex. At this point got about 85-90% improvement but didn't want to go any futher.
I will say I usually finish a car start to finish with a rotary but after reading, personal experience, and a conversation with Todd on the phone. I think I'm gonna switch my machine action for finishing.
The rest of the car was done with Flex and orange pad SRC compound, followed by white pad and SRC Finishing. Finally hit with BFWD topped with Midnight sun spray wax!
As it sat when it came in, Truly amazing how reflective it looks in this pic before I ever touched it!
A little closer pic shows the SOS damage
Under halogens you can really see its messed up
After sanding and compounding on driver side door vs passanger side. Much better but still needed some refining
Got sand paper?
ok so 7 hours later when I finished the to 2 doors that were wrecked... OMG took so much time I had to make soooooo many passes with everything on this rock hard paint.
Rest of the paint looked like this and was pretty easily taken care of with Flex SRC duo Orange/white pad.
It took about 3-4 pass's with just SRC Compound to these results, SRC finishing took care of the rest of it.
50/50
We like reflective stuff!! Even in the shade
Pretty color all dialed in!
Whip lash for ya!
Thanks for looking
