Opti Coat Pro Certified
Brand new black Tesla S from the factory Halo'd up. Being black and the fact that I know Tesla paint is a little finicky I decided for a 2 step polish and opticoat.
Washed 2x2 method with citrus wash
Decon with Iron-x and wolfs poly clay fine grade
Polished with BF SRC compound/finishing polish.
IPA was being a little tricky on this one because I kept marring up the paint when I was wiping it down. So I try something else that seemed to well. I soaked the car with 100% IPA and agitated it with a wash mit the dried it with compressed air and blotting.
Opti Coat was applied and done!
Not a ton of working pics on this one because customer needed it back at 10am so I had to get the opticoat on it by 8 so it would cure.
When it got here
After wash an Decon
After my test spot I noticed the marring from IPA so I dragged it out side. You couldn't see the marring in the sun but it was visible under halogens. I was not willing to let it go though and didn't have time to experiment so I just kept polishing the car.
OHHHHHHH YEAH THAT'S THE GOOD STUFF! Yet again we all know I'm borderline retarded, I do keep my self entertained though!
Gotta love that BF Whiplash creating goodness! After this I IPA'd the car in wash bay dried it up and Opticoated it.
The next morning I was here at 7am to finish up nit picking the car and making sure it was all good.
I did some some very light marring in a few places that you could really only see if you saw the car at certain angles.
You can count the twigs on each branch in that reflection!
Parting shot! Customer was blown away when he saw it. I also scheduled a full PPF kit on this car for next week. I'll go back over the car and fix the little marring I saw on the back quarter then.
Thanks for looking
