This jet black 650ci had seen better days.... The whole car for sure had been repainted but the owner knew nothing about it and bought it brand new. I didn't know about the repaint until I washed it then I saw some of the obvious signs here and there. When I first saw the car thinking it would have super soft paint, I scheduled it for 1 day. Soon as I started working on this car I called up the customer and told them no way no how this was getting done in one day. There were some really nasty scratches on this car and the paint was hard as nails(maybe resprayed at the factory and over baked) I got most of them out probably 80-85% correction.
Wheels were washed with megs wheel bright followed by 3 different iron-x treatments. After they were polished with my rotary, 3inch cutting pad and BF metal fine metal polish.
Paint- The entire car was corrected using a rotary mostly my dewalt, but the makita saw some action as well. As far my polishing method went, I call it the "Big A" style. As using his water ways works wonders :rockon. The whole of the paint was corrected with SRC Compound, and SRC Finishing. Mostly with 5.5 CCS Constant pressure Orange, white, and red pads. Couple 3inch pads for some tight areas.
Interior was fully detailed, Leather got leatherque treatment, carpets got extracted. I was unable to do anything with the rag top because I was out of cleaner/protectant for it so I ordered some and told the customer to bring it back in cpl weeks and I'll take care of it.
as it sat when it came in....

progress
Trunk was hammered big time
Cpl rounds of SRC Finishing polished cleared up the rest of this. I was pretty much done polishing shortly after so I took it out side to look at the paint after IPA, Before BFWD.
still a few light scratches here but they weren't safe to fully remove. Huge improvement non the less.
I pulled it back in the bay nit picked a few area's on the paint. Finished the windows wheels, sealed it with BFWD, ect.... It was really late at this point my 3rd day working over 12 hours a day on this car so no more sun shots but check it out.
From this too...
