Famous last words "I've only had my car hand washed since I got it!". Well here we go again knowing that not all "Hand washing" is equal. Usually at the shop we do a lot of high end daily drivers but seldom get true exotics in. It happens from time to time. I always have the same feeling, I'm excited seeing them in the parking lot, excited taking the before pics! And the I start working on them... I have some basic services out lined that I can always exceed expectations with out doing a bunch of extra work. But when a car like this shows up... My OCD kicks into full affect and no matter was what was promised I do WAY more. Always chasing that "It can be shinier!". So what should of been a six hour job turned into a 13 hours job and an angry pregnant better half because I was working late instead of feeding her. Originally planned for a 1 step and BFWD I couldn't find a combo I liked so I 2 stepped it and... After all that polishing I couldn't bare the thought of not coating it so it got 2 healthy layers of Cquartz UK. Check it out!
When it arrived... Doesn't look that bad right? But does a Ferrari ever?
OK so out in the sun I'm still thinking I'll be ok!
Wax on trim here and there.
The metallic in the paint really made it hard to capture defects in the sun. But this was bad....
The lights tell a story, and if hard plastic looks like this... Wait till you see the soft paint under shop lights
Started off with the wheels making sure to get everything
scrubbing off what dressing was on here that was splattered down both sides of the car... but hey it was SHINY!
Scrubbing more dressing off the plastic under the rear bumper.
Ta Da! Inside tips never been cleaned this took 30 minutes per side and went as far as sand paper and 00 steel wool to get it right...
Got halos? Flakes wash a lot but look at the lines coming off the light.
Better!
Don't forget the little things!
Here's where it got fun... After 4 hours of polishing on just the front end of the car that I didn't think was horrible... I got to the passenger door...
"We used a broom by hand to scrub down the sides of your Ferrari! That still counts as a hand wash right?"
4 compounding steps and a polishing step later!
These scratches were DEEP!
All cleaned up! Ok at this point I ran outta time to take pics and just started going as quick as I could to finish.
Glossy!!
This was after polishing before coating. Bare Naked gloss! Sorry sun was going down at this point
Back in the shop prior to coating!
And done!
No sun but my point light, you get the idea!
No pics but I didn't for get the lights!
I'll get some more pics when it comes back next week! It was 9pm and I was TIRED.
Thanks for looking
