The customers main concern on this was making the glass better which had major water spots and swirls. I did not think much of the fact that I really did not have any glass polish because I almost never see glass like this. Water spots all the time and those are easyily polished off with SIP or SRC Compound. After testing a few places with stuff I had here the thing that worked best was HD UNO and an orange pad. It did take what seemed like a million passes to get the glass to where you could see out of it again but in the end I made 75% improvement on it and the customer was really happy. The paint was thrashed on this car too but for the lack $$$$ We decided on a one step correction. It went down like this.....
Washed 2 buckets
Deconed with speedy prep towel
Masked up 3m tape
Rotary with white pad and SIP using various speeds and pressure to avoid halograming the paint.(Was actually really happy with the way SIP finished down with almost no pressure and 800rpm Halo I got 85% of scratches and swirls out and didnt leave a halo or dull spot anywhere on the car)
Windows were done in the fashion describe above.
After polishing IPA followed by BFWD
Windows were rain-x'd(I was waiting for an order to get some of the new pinnacle stuff)
hammered comes to mind...
50/50 of my test spot on the hood
Huge difference
Massive etching and light scratches
after, not perfect... But way better(ordering glass polish soon lol)
Done took me about 8-9 hours total and more than half that was on the windows:wall It came out nice though and customer was happy thats the important part! Also was raining out side so I didn't anything else to do lol.
