Orinda Auto Detail - Blackish car Black Fired Out!

Orinda Auto Detail

Opti Coat Pro Certified
Blackish Car Smack down coming at you! enjoy! All of these cars were polished with BF SRC finishing polish my Rupes21 and my Dewalt849x. LSP was Black Ice on them. Interiors were done with a combo of little brushes apc, and leather treatment. Carpets were extracted with a MyTee extractor. I will say the focus on these cars was just to get them really clean. No one wanted perfect paint but they wanted better. Check it out!

Well this obviously lives under pine trees and probably isn't safe to drive at night. I doubt much light is escaping.
null_zps35dee664.jpg

So I started with the head lights. Using 600,1000,1500,3000. Cut/polish seal.

The car was overwhelmed with tears of joy since it could now see again!

Now time to wash it up. When detailing a car these are things that make the biggest difference IMO. Stuff like Jambs need to be 100% clean as they can get. 90% of my customers don't know and can't see the difference between a a car I one stepped or one I did 3 steps and jeweled. But they know what dirt in a jamb is.

Every jamb on this truck had to hit with APC and an assortment of little brushes to get them right this alone took me almost 2 hours because they were sooooo bad. Pressure washer wasn't touching the years of caked on grime with out some heavy agitation first.

To the wheels
null_zps83911764.jpg

Some Megs wheel bright was in order to get the barrels with out pulling the wheels. Faces came clean no problem with with soap and brush.
null_zps1f305047.jpg

4 hours later I can wash it! 2x2 method being used with APC and wash shampoo mixed. Later I had to go back and remove a ton of tree sap with lacquer thinner and re wash the car. Didn't see it till I got up on the roof(opps)
null_zps788e6209.jpg

After washing and Decon you can see some etchings left over from the sap along with true condition of the paint.

Interior was as expected. Here is my test spot on the leather to see how clean it would get.
null_zpsd376dd6c.jpg

Some APC and brush I started getting all the nit pick stuff
null_zpsed289670.jpg

My little brother wash polishing the out side while was doing the interior. I lost a coin flip so I got stuck cleaning the mom mobile!

Fast forward to the next day(all in we had about 12 man hours into this car)

null_zps718f7ccd.jpg

Not perfect but customer was in total shock when she saw it.
null_zpse582bd1b.jpg

The lights being done made this thing look 5 years newer!

One Blackish car down! Sorry no finished interior picks I forgot to take them. But it was dialed!

On to the M3. Not as many pics on this one because I was under real big time constraints and my team did just about everything except polish it. Same kind of deal on this. Only difference is we added some extreme fabric protection to the top.

At arrival
null_zpse1f122d7.jpg

Paint looked lifeless.
null_zps7daea59f.jpg

null_zps8202aa3c.jpg

Claying some of the harder to reach area's with an old fashion 3m perfect it bar. It took a few times to get the fall out off the paint. Rest of the car was decon with speedy prep towel
null_zps4fe6c6d0.jpg

Bad oxidation and etchings on the rear bumper required aggressive compounding and polishing to restore.
null_zps473fabe8.jpg

Masking off areas for secret sauce fabric protection!
null_zps197e8851.jpg

I had to re take this pic 3 times because by the time I snapped the pic the water had all ran off the top!
null_zps68b2d224.jpg

heat damage maybe? Using my dewalt and FG400/BF Src Compound/Bf Finshing polish.
null_zps9ad2ea41.jpg

null_zps2566ba1d.jpg

Ta Da! I polished the pipes with 2k sand paper followed by BF Fine metal polish all by hand

After polishing before Black ICE
null_zpsab63353d.jpg

Paint was about 80% improvement for a one stepper.
null_zps053937ac.jpg

After Black ICE. Sun was hiding so no more sun shots.
null_zps2ede1045.jpg

Looks wet! Top is nice and black!

Ok now for the hard one. This had to be some of the most jacked up paint I'd ever personally seen. This soft Acura corrected easy and marred easier. It took a ton of patients with this one fighting me every step of the way.

null_zpsad54259f.jpg

After wash and decon. Test spot. It's hard to see but there is a ton of micro marring from the polishing step on the other side of this line. I Found MF pads to be very un forgiving on this paint so I switched to my dewalt and white foam still with BF polish

null_zps244f3891.jpg

One pass with combo mentioned above was giving me close to 75% and I was good with that. I didn't pull a gauge out but I knew the paint was thin on this car and it had been BUFFED hard a few times.

Great job on all those cars. I really like the attention payed to the details such as the jambs and such. The line about customers not being able to tell 3 step paint correction but easily being able to spot dirt in all the nooks and crannies is some great advice.

Great correction work there Joe, I hope these customers return to you to take care of their rides.:bigups

More black(ish) vehicles

All with your full attention to detail.
Quite simply put - GREAT JOB (as always)

Looks great....gas prices are high there !

Tell me about it!!!! Here in SF the Bay Area, the prices you saw are typical. It is the California state gasoline tax plus the "Special Regulations" the oil companies must comply to that is driving up the cost of gas.

On to the M3. Not as many pics on this one because I was under real big time constraints and my team did just about everything except polish it.

Great Job as always but Joe..... Black cars. Really!!!! I am so surprise. :lmfao

Joe, all three cars turned out amazing. Very nice work on the jambs and your attention to detail. Thanks for the write ups.

You certainly did a great job on all three cars. Regarding the door jambs, it just goes to show you what normal people (untrained eyes) really remember from a detailing experience. A family member of mine just had her car done by a local and he forgot to clean the trunk jambs. She immediately showed me, who usually details her car, and said, "this is why you do a better job than that guy". Needless to say, he lost a client over not cleaning the trunk jamb.
