Orinda Auto Detail -2013 Black Panamera GTS new car prep

This car was actually pretty bad for a car with less than 2k miles on it. Lots Rids and swirls. I was a little puzzled when I started working on this as the last 2 new Porsche's I did both had really hard paint. This one was soft like sneeze and scratch the paint soft. Also this has been a long time customer of mine and probably one the most demanding picky ones I know.

Washed like normal 2x2 grit guards citrus wash

Decon with Iron-X followed by speedy prep towel on about 2 panels then I stopped and used 3m clay(first indication of soft paint the towel was inflicting major scratches)

3m tape for the whole car

Paint was corrected with my 849x and a white pad with mostly SRC finishing polish. Few places required SRC compound for some deeper rids.

LSP was Opti Coat.

Nice looking car! I see you're still using those CCS pads. Those clay towels sure can marr up that soft Porsche paint. What did you do to prep the paint for the coating after polishing?

I used IPA, and I love CCS pads. And far as soft paint I did a jet black turbo Panamera and blue cayenne that both had really hard paint. Any recommendations on better pads?

No, not at all. Those CCS pads work just fine via rotary. Just gotta make sure to clean them so the pockets don't load up with debris. Other that they they rock and I still have a bunch in my arsenal. Weird how paint on these cars were so different. Just goes to show you when you think you can expect XXX, it's always best to have a back up. Again, love these cars and it would be my ultimate daily driver. (Turbo or course)

Yeah I love these as well! Hands down IMO the best interior design/layout of any car I've ever been in. Including lots of Bentleys, rolls, lambos, ect.... They did an amazing job
