Detailed a car the other day. It was a Metallic Anthracite V8. For those WRX fans the car reflecting in the paint is an Australian Spec WRX STi- a step up from the WRX imported into the USA.

The car is a GM Holden V8. If you want to see some V8s with more power and style see:

Select "cars" on the left on the title page.

Holden have just released a new v8 Coupe known as the Monaro. Great looking car:

The most powerful is a 300kW monster known as the GTS, engine made in the US. See: http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/vt2/vt2_gts/gts2000.htm

One of these crashed at a race track the other week! Ouch the repair bill.

Isn't GM the best!

I have the LS1 in my 99 SS. Those cars have the same motor but are really exotic. Those cares are something else, you can even get them race prepped all the way dropped, supercharged, 18 inch rims ..... etc. You know how it goes .......... jeepers creepers.

Michael-

I was fortunate enough to take a few trips to Australia in 2000 and 2001, and one of my co-workers in Brisbane has a WRX-STi. What a phenomenal car...we went from somewhere in downtown Brisbane (Park Street area; I was staying at the Cosmo Hotel) to a restaurant that was sort of out in the country; it's raised up on a platform, had croc's underneath it, sort of in a rain forrest setting?

Anyway, that car made me green (envy and sick). I've ridden in a Porsche 911 Twin Turbo as well as a Viper with Venom 650 kit, and the WRX felt almost as fast as both. So tiny and nimble, but when he'd punch it and the turbo would wind up - OMFG...

Just had to chime in. Oh, and I also took lots of pictures of Holdens and Falcon's - you guys and gals have some great vehicles over there...too bad fuel was .84/liter at the time. :-)

I have a WRX STi:D :D (my face after I have had a little trip in the car);) Lots of turbo power, little weight and all wheel drive.

It took sometime, but it is now part of the standard model line up. Because a couple of months ago they were only two special runs that were imported. Reward for being the second biggest market outside Japan.

Just read today on autoweeks website that GM is seriously considering bring the Holden M.... something rather over as a Pontiac GTO!!! Wow

That would be wonderfull!! If for no other reason just to see what we are missing here in the States.

By the way: Nice Finish!!

and I love that STI!!

The Monaro was only recently released but I have seen 2 in the last 2 days- nil before then except on TV. The website has the red one, but it also comes in yellow, green, blue, black and couple of other colours. The red and also yellow look good.

Haven't tested one yet;) but I know the STi is quicker.

I finally put together a order last friday.....pads, m205, clay, soap mf towels....and more.....
I'm all excited to detail my dd....this weekend is supposed to be nice....
I check UPS web site for tracking this morning....

I'm pretty bummed out......I know I will get the items....but my weekend was planned.....
