Optimum Power Clean and staining

well guys i did a little bit of a test last night. i waxed my car with a red foam app pad and about half way through i dropped it. last night i sprayed OPC on the pad in a stream, and then misted a little bit of ONR QD on the pad. i let that sit over night and rinsed out today (about 24 hours of soaking). there are perfect discoloration lines of where the OPC contacted the pad. the pad is about 1 1/2" thick and they go all the way though.

now, i know that you almost never use OPC at full strength or let it dwell on something for 24 hours, but take this FWIW - with a grain of salt.

just making the post to see what everyone has to say about it.

ill get pics up tomorrow afternoon, im sore now and my camera is in my car. :doh

I made the mistake of soaking mine in a bleach and water mix overnight to get rid of mold. I think we can both caulk it up to user error. Mine are still usable but an ugly color. You might run them through the washer to make sure all the OPC is out so that it doesn't release the velcro. I read on Optimum's Forum that DrG said that might happen if you let it dwell.

user error for sure. but what im getting at is OPC is supposed to be some of the "safest" ACP out there and we often use it on interior carpets, dashes, etc.

but, like i said. no one lets any interior pieces or carpet soak in OPC full strength over night

thanks for the washing machine tip
