With the winter finally in full force here in the Northeast, it is time to start washing the car inside the garage...thus my interest in Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine.

For someone who has used the product extensively, would you please share your process / techniques / tricks?

How are you pre-soaking the vehicle?

Thanks

I too have looked, and not quite understood how this product works/ what the technique is. When someone says they presoaked the car with this product, does that mean they put some in a bottle and sprayed the car 5minutes before washing?

Guys, there is so much info on this products already spoken for..................Theres a huge library, just make a quick search.......I will PM you some info as well.......

dozens if not hundreds of satisfied users. In short: just put a small amount in a bucket with water (as recommended on bottle), pick your wash media, wipe/wash a panel and dry it off with your drying media of choice. move to next panel.

personal notes, I like using a grout sponge avail at home depot for washing. I like using warm water in my bucket. I use waffle weave towels for drying.

You can't go wrong with ONR, it has been used by so many people with excellent results.

I use chenille, chenille/microfiber and just started using grout sponges to wash with, they all work well, it is really just personal preference.

Question: Would the administrators consider adding a "no-rinse" lesson to the autopia "how to" guides? I just started using ONR a couple of weeks ago and have learned the hard way that if you do not use the right wash tool and without prepping the surface with a sprayer you can scratch your paint that you worked so hard to polish :bawling: . I've been so upset for the last few days knowing that I have to look at those scratches until spring:angry and while you can learn so much through using the search tool, I think members could benefit from a usage guide :up

That's what I do. I usually don't pre soak unless the car is extremely dirty. You can spray dirty panels with the QD mixture described on the label, or spray it down at a DIY car wash on your way home.

Scott's post is as good a user's guide as I've seen. :bow

I just noticed that Obsessive Detail has the 32oz of ONR bottle on sale for 9 bucks...

It looks like a typo but they'd pretty much have to give it you if you ordered...

What technique did you use and what wash media? I've used ONR on a pretty dirty car and no marring / scratches (using a single bucket too)
