Optimum Metal Polish Review-New Formula

I finally had the chance to try some of the new Optimum Metal Polish (new formula). I have always been a fan of Optimum Metal since it came out. I have a ton of polished metal and chrome on my garage queens and it seems like I am constantly polishing something on them. My HRE wheels on my 300ZX are a nightmare to polish but Optimum has always done a fantastic job.

I have tried just about every metal polish on the market but always found myself coming back to Optimum for the way that it worked. Very fast cut, little dusting, etc.

In comparison the new formula is somewhat different. The consistency is very runny. Almost like water. I found that I used a lot more product than I did with the creamier older version. You have to be very careful pouring it from the bottle as it will pour out rather quickly.

Another difference it seems is that the new formula does cut faster. I am very happy with the overall way that the product works. I used it on my 350Z polished plenum and exhaust tips. Granted there was not a ton of oxidation but the Optimum polished everything back up with little effort.

My only concern is that I tend to use the Optimum with my Mothers Power Ball Mini on doing these wheels and I am worried that I might get splatter when trying to use the new formula. The old would cling to the Powerball perfectly.

Sorry no pictures. The weather is pouring here in the East and I really wanted to post some outside shots after doing the polishing.

Overall another great product from Optimum.

Thanks for the review. It is on my list and would have got it at DF had I not forgotten and I even made a list!

I love the old formula. I have always used it by hand, but have recently questioned whether or not it would be a good investment on one of the new polishing accessories that Meguair's or mothers have.
