When I saw that Optimum had introduced a Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer I knew it would be a winner. And sure enough bought the conc. made a gallon, quick spray and wipe of ENTIRE car and liked what I saw. No streaks, slick, added depth..... They pulled it off !!

thanks for the review! that's going to be one of the products i'm going to look at when i do an order fairly soon... :)

Does anyone have an opinion on how OID compares with FK425?

Having used both products, I think the Optimum Instant Detailer completely blows the FK425 out of the water. The slickness and gloss is much better!

I really do like 425, but Optimum has raised the bar!

I'd be interested in a comparison of this detailer next to the ONR product thats diluted to 'detailer' strength.

Edit: Sounds like the detailer is quite a step.. top of the last step pyramid while the other is more of a cleansing lube for clays,and/or a quick lifter for bugs/contaminants.

I have both and have tried both. I didn't really see where the Optimum QID "blew" 425 away. I found it be on par with 425. I do like QID and found it to be a great quick detailer.

If both are about the same, would using QID be more economical than FK425?

FK425 31 oz $14.26 at fk1usa.com

OID Price $17.95 for 32oz at detailersdomain.com

The 320z at DD is concentrate, so it makes a gallon...

Price wise, it's a complete no brainer...

I believe FK1 425 is ~$26/gallon + 4.99 shipping

OID $20 gallon + $6-8 shipping + 1.50 gallon of distilled water.

Slightly more challenging than a no brainer, but moderately priced nonetheless.

Im not sure a 1 Gal concentrate is available, but a Qt (concentrate) will make a gallon. So a Gal for $20.00 plus S/H.

I think the gallon concentrate is $48 = 4 gallons. = $12 gallon

I also don't think it blew 425 out of the water. But it does give a deeper, flake popping glow.

I WANNA TRY IT!

I love QD's and i love optimum they do some very very good products, i hope they get this out to the UK soon. :brit

BTW, if you like the FK qd do try the SCG Hot Rod detailer, same colour, similar smell but slightly glossier results!

Geoff

Man not checking out the forums lately has put me out of the loop I guess. OPT making a dedicated QD now, might have to check this out!

If anything I like the smell a whole lot better than when I was using ONR as a QD.

This stuff smells a little like bubblegum. I got mine today so I'll have to try it out.
