Opti-Coat Pro 2 Tesla Model S - Long Island, NY

Got the opportunity to apply Opti-Coat Pro on both of these beautiful machines. I have to say, I really like them. Quiet, quick, and its only $9 or so to fill up! Beats going to the gas station any day of the week! Here are some teasers from the job. Both cars got a full paint correction which really only was a single step with FG400 and a MF pad or Green Foam on low speeds. Some areas needed some more cutting so I upped the speed but really nothing crazy.

For these two Tesla Model S’, Opti-Coat Pro was the only choice. Tesla’s are notorious for having extremely thin clear coats which, over time, wear down. For a car that many buyers plan on keeping for years to come, that is a major problem. Opti-Coat Pro provides a protective layer 2 microns thick. That’s about 100x thicker than any wax or sealant on the market. With Long Island’s harsh winters ahead, the owner wanted to protect his investments. Both cars, white and silver, got the same treatment. A full service detail, paint correction, and Opti-Coat Pro application.

Here is the full detailing write up...

I hadn't heard that Teslas have notorious thin clears but it does seem to be on the soft side so the added hardness of Optimum Coating definitely makes sense. Both look great, btw.

Many you can actually see spots that have absolutely no clear from the factory. Both of these had similar issues. Towards the bottom of the panels it was very noticeable. And yes they are also very soft where Opti-Coat helps add that extra level of protection.
