Opti Coat 2.0 Application Question

In my never ending search for detailing truth I found this article at Detailers Depot. Pretty interesting so I thought I'd pass it on to my Autopian brothers.... and to the sister I never knew I had, <strong class='bbc'>arcticwhite[/b].:D

What makes Detailer Depot the "Authority"?



I have seen firsthand the damage that silicones can cause on a fiberglass vehicle repaint. The whole panel leeched with silicone oils had to be replaced. If these oils did not penetrate through the paint I don't know how they could have gotten there.
 
Like RIC, I have my doubts about their authority when it comes to exploding detailing myths. On their products page, they can't even spell 'Meguiars' correctly, even though they have a picture of one of their products with the name spelled right. 'Meguires'...WTF? Pretty unprofessional if you ask me.
 
Don't trust everything you see on the internet. You can't even trust what all the people say here. The person posting could be some arse that is just really good at making up BS. Come with an open mind and figure a way to weed out the good information the from the BS.



I could just make a webpage that looks professional and fill it with information is comletely false. Maybe someone is doing that with this page?
 
Someone needs to write the diffinitive bible of detailing. David's book comes pretty close. :xyxthumbs I would love to have something to refer to when I went out and did something new. One of the things that I liked about a certian company (that will remain nameless) that I work with is that they have large wall charts that give you solutions to problems we come across in detailing. They tell you how to use their products to fix the problems. I would love a resource like that on a larger scale. Like in a book form. Wouldn't it be great.....?
 
I'm too busy writing my book of the perfect crimes. :) You think I jest? I'm 6 months from publication. I just need to figure out how to escape from prison successfully now. What good is it to commit the perfect crime if you can't blab about it and get arrested? ;)

Perfect crime? Like breaking into someones garage and detailing there cars while they are away? ;)

Well if that is the perfect crime then I think I'll leave my garage open from now on :P

Hi everybody! First time post and need help/suggestion.

I just finished a 3 step polish and Opti Coat 2.0 over the weekend.

When I first tried to apply the Opti Coat, the pad was VERY dry and it kept flipping out of my hand. I don't think I applied enough product to the first few panels. (Total car took about 3 cc's-didn't do wheels or windows).

I know you can't layer OC 2.0, but is it o.k. for me to re-apply to those panels?

Check for beading then apply to places where you have none. If you want to reapply to a place that beads, do a light polish first.
