Opinions on "no-touch" brushless auto-washes?

I know that all auto-washes that use brushes are generally bad. I have an auto-wash by my house that has a "no touch" option. Just to clarify, your car is put on rollers and rolled through the operation while (I'm assusming) spinning high pressure water nozzles blast your car down. My concern is,,, is there a point at which this could be too much water pressure on your cars paint to damage the clear coat? Could the pressure be too much to take off any polish/wax that you might have on the car?

It's sticking around 40 degrees here and it's beginning to become a bigger pain in the butt to spend an hour a week washing my car in the driveway. TIA.

I use my buddy's touchless wash all the time in the winter. I mean, I either have cleaners that could tear apart the sealant and wax or I have salt eatign away at it. I would rather just put a coat of sealant on every month throughout the winter. It seems to work really well for me.

I have that same dilemma.....I choose the touchless wash as well. Usually about 1 or 2x a month.

I used to have underground heated parking at my old apt, with a car wash bay and all. Man did that freakin' rock.

ho hum.

I try to hit it once a week just for the underside blaster alone. I am worried about everything rusting solid underthere. LOL

Yeah, the underside blaster deals are a Godsend. I wish I didn't love Minneapolis so much so I could move out of this icebox like normal people! LOL!

I have never taken my car to a car wash, but I plan to go several times during this winter for the underbody wash. I'll be going to a DIY wash place though. So I can bring a few buckets, my own supplies, and use my own soap. I can also dry the car, since I'll go at a time when nobody else will be there i.e. 8-9PM or early in the morning. :)

I'll sit there and spray off every little bit of the underbody/wheelwells. It's only $2.25 for the self serve place down the road so it's not really much money. I'll be happier knowing that all the salt is off of the car.

man i'm really torn now. I mean I work all day, and its freezing cold when I get home from work and i have to go outside and wash the car. It's almost into the 60's now, the 60's! It's so cold i have to wear pants instead of shorts. I hope next winter isnt so cold. lol anyways i've use the brushless wash a few times when I just didnt have tiem to wash it myself. One time it locked up after covering my car in soap..... I had no money to pay for the other machine to rinse the soap off my car which was only a week old.... but other than that it usually works ok, does a crap job on my wheels and bumpers but gets most dirt off. It still beads up too, so i'm sure the wax is still on there.

I know how you feel GTO78. This weekend the high will only reach to 72. I hate having to deal with freezing cold winters like this
