Opinion on Window Tint

I am thinking on tinting my windows. In Maryland legal is 35%, I am thinking of going 25%, do you all think my car would look good with a dark tint?

Also, give me some recomendations on some customization.

Thanks!

Yeah I bet it would look a lot better, and would be more comfortable if you travel a lot.

I *think* I have 25% on the 850 (thats what the dealer said when I bought it) However, it dosent look that dark because it has a metalic "mirror" look outside.

Heres a pic...

After having removed tint, I don't think I'd ever recommend it to anyone...

However, black cars tend to look good with tint.

What was your experience?

I have removed it and had 0 problem. I just peeled it off slowly, and it left no residue whatsoever.

Took me around 5min per window, peeling very very slowly

Ron, yea, you're right. Some big, retro-looking wheels would definately benefit the XG350's old American proportions. The car reminds me of the new Infiniti M45 - a "muscle car with brains."

I would recommend a 35% tint and the aforementioned wheels.

You didn't have any glue residue? The tint sometimes peels off nicely, though not always. It's the worst on the back window where you have to be very careful with a razor because of the defroster lines. If the tint doesn't pull smoothly off back there, it is a real pain. But I've never seen the glue come off with the tint. I've always had to use ammonia and usually steel wool to get it off. Then you get mushy glue balls falling everywhere and steel wool linting. It is a big pain...

Ive done it on 2 cars and both times just went very very slowly peeling it, and i had very little residue left. One wipe with a towel + ammonia and all of the residue was gone.

Maybe I just got lucky. Both times I did it was in the sun on a warm day though. Maybe that helped by softening the glue.

I removed tint that had been on a car for over 8 years. It looked so bad, it actually started to turn purple! (Arizona car.....120 degree summers, never garaged!).

Most of it we had to remove with razor blades. By the time it was complete, we had about 12 hours in that little project (my son's Grand Prix). And ruined the Rear Window Defogger in the process.
