Open Invitation - 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Swirl Removal

Hi all,



It looks like next week I'll be doing a before and after on a 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Convertible. This will take place at my house in Apple Valley, starting at 8:00am, probably on Wednesday, July 21st.



If any Autopian is in the area and would like to come over and watch or even help out, please feel welcome.



Of course I'll be using Meguiar's products to perform the makeover, however, the techniques that will be shown can be used with most any product.

While in the above picture, the car looks pretty good, in real life the finish is filled with swirls, with what looks to be both cobweb-effect and rotary buffer instilled swirls.

oh man, what a piece of art. There is a gullwing I see around everyonce in awhile that just blows my mind. But I like the drop top better







My girlfriend is really fond of the 68 SL's, and I think i'm gonna restore one as a wedding gift.

I'm about 6 miles down Bear Valley road towards Hesperia. Easy to find. I'm going to try to do this next Wednesday, July 21st.
