ONR help.

I have been reading more and more about people using ONR, so I bought some, can some of you tell me your exact process from start to finish on how you use it.

I'm sure I'm being an idiot for not knowing how, but I just want to know if you guys have tips and tricks to fill me in on.

I did do a search, but just found the results were hard to sift through.

Thanks in advance.

I spray my car down with ONR in a pesticide sprayer at a QD ratio. Then I fill a bucket with 1oz to 2gallon ratio to use as my wash. Then I fill another bucket which contains a grit guard with water and one capfull of ONR just for good measure.

I use sheepskins or plush microfibers starting from the top down. I do one panel at a time, overlapping onto other panels slightly. I then dry the panel with a WW microfiber (which is why I overlap, to keep the WW clean incase it comes in contact with the edge of an unclean panel.

Do you feel that you waste any product that way?

Also, how does your water look after a wash? I mean, could you use it on another car?

Would you use this process in your garage?

If you use a separate rinse bucket, the ONR bucket will not have much grit/dirt in it and if you have enough ONR left, you could do another car.

I just washed my car in the garage with ONR. You will have less liquid on the floor after an ONR wash than when the car has just been through a rain shower. Remember that you are drying the car immediately after you apply the ONR to a panel, so the drips will be minimal.

It's good stuff!

Yea probably, but its cheap enough

Since I have a rinse bucket it looks fine, when using MF I could definitely use it on a second car. I've found that using Sheepskins I go through more wash.

I'd prespray outside then pull her right in and do it no problems.

Get the gallon size trust me. You can make a great QD and Clay Lube with ONR....

well i already have like 4 x 64oz Meguire Gold Class so I don't really need shampoo

So I am about to make a purchase

which combo should I get

either 32oz of ONR (just use in Winter- winter is short in TX Houston btw probably 2 washes on regular sedan)

and 128oz of Clearkote Quickshine (QD)

15.99 + 25.00 = 40.99

or

just buy 1 gallon of ONR (winter wash and QD)

39.99

what you guys think.....

please reply thx....

I would just get the ONR for your winter wash and quick detailier. It will save you a lot of money. I buy it by the gallon size. The QS does work great too. Gives a lot of gloss.

Let's do the math.

$15.99 = 32oz of ONR

6 oz of ONR + 128oz of Water = QD

So you have 128oz of QD and 26oz of ONR for $15.99........ easy!

I just got my gallon of ONR (to replace my QEW) so I haven't had a chance to mix up any ONR QD yet, but if I like it as well as Quik Shine it will be a pleasant surprise.

I think you will be totally happy with it Eliot. I like it much better than the QEW. In my opinion, the ONR doesn't give the paint the pop like the Quik Shine does. ONR is a great product and I use it all of the time now. I actually use it more than conventional washes.

I mix 1oz of ONR/Gallon of H20, and I use a bug sprayer (found at most home improvement stores) mixed with 2oz of ONR and an ounce or two of QD. I find that the by pre-treating the panel with the bug sprayer seems to make wiping the panel with ONR much easier. The only other thing to do is to find a wash medium (i.e mitts or sponges) that work the best for you.

To wash, pretreat with ONR solution; mix ONR into the wash water, swirl it around a little bit, dip your wash medium into the solution, carefully wipe onto the panel. Dry the panel you just did, and move on.
