ONR dry technique question(s)

I conduct about 90% of my washes with ONR and love the results. After washing each panel with ONR I mist the panel with Megs UQD and if using a dry MF, I mist the MF prior to drying. This technique has worked really well and pretty much eliminated any micro-marring.

Question 1: UQD is not the least expensive QD on the market and I can't find anywhere that sells it by the gallon. Can it be purchased by the gallon?

I have tried ONR at QD strength, but it doesn't offer the slickness of UQD. I have also tried FK425, but it tends to streak on warm panels (I live in a condo so I often have to drive to a local car wash lot to perform my washes).

Question 2: Any suggestions on other QDs that are more economical yet still aid in superior drying?

Thanks

You want the professional version: M135 Synthetic Detailer. It is available in gallon sizes. ADS, e.g., has the gallon on sale for $27.99.

Since we're talking optimum here... Why hasn't one even mentioned OID ? And it fits your economy bill for 1 gallon that runs 50 bucks you'd get 4 gallons

OID is the one to go for, diluted it works out very economical and slicker than UQD :)

OID is the no brainer choice, works and looks great. If you want even slicker, go for OCW. I do prefer AW on lighter colors though. UQD is very medicore for me.

Also, I don't dry panel by panel, I usually do 1/2 the car and then dry with ONR or 1/4 if its really hot outside. Individual panels waste too much time.

Can you use UQD on a damp/wet car? I was under the assumption you should only use it on a dry car. Maybe not.

OID is a great product as well!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I went ahead and ordered some M135 and I'll pick up some OID as well and see which one I prefer to aid in drying. FK425 is my "go to" QD for regular QD'ing, ridiculously great results. I'm a fan of lightly misting the panels (and MFs) prior to drying the finish after a wash so I'm not looking for final QD results (that is what FK425 is for), just increased lubrication to avoid any micro-marring during the drying process.

Thanks again for all of the advice and insight :hifive:.
