ONR as Clay Lube! Ratio?

Says 2 oz. of ONR to 1 gallon of water. How many oz's are in a gallon (64) LOL, don't laugh, I never did pay attention to them tables lol. If I have a 32 oz spray bottle how do I get the mixture for a Clay Lube. Thx.

If you want to mix it at 2 oz per gallon, then mix 1/2 oz per 32 oz bottle. Hope that helps.

I am not sure what mixture ONR is recommended for clay lube. Maybe someone will jump in.

Edit: I just checked, it's 2 oz per gallon for clay lube. So those figures are correct.

You could put 1/2 ounce of ONR into 32oz for the same ratio.

I used a 64oz Gatorade bottle mixed with 1 oz of ONR. That makes it really simple. :bigups

OH just be sure to label the bottle REALLY good because it will look just like the light blue Gatorade! There is no mistaking that my bottle contains ONR :)

I'm not sure, but isn't it that 2 capfuls (cap cover) of ONR equals 1 ounce. So, I think 1 cap of ONR should be enough for a 32 oz spray bottle... Could anyone please confirm?

yes, but remember that the caps are different on the gallon bottle vs. the smaller one. someone else measured it out and found that the gallon cap is a 1/2 the quantity of the standard cap. i'd search for that thread now but i'm lazy. :)

Any reason not to use ONR QD dilution as clay lube? The clay lube ratio seems kind of weak.

It works just fine, don't let the dilution ratios of ONR fool you. It is an efficient product. I did, however, use it at QD strength rather than clay lube strength.

However... when I used it, my Meg's fine clay left residue at several places, which has never happened before whether it was with car wash solution or good ol' meg's QD. Not sure what happened there :nixweiss

Yeah I use it at that strength also. I don't use ONR for anything else than as a QD. It feels like only water even at that strength.

If youre scared to use it as a waterless wash, mist your car with ONR QD before washing it. It really does lubricate, I even add it to my traditional washes.

Quick digression... unless you are polishing you do have to re-rinse the car after using ONR clay lube before adding a LSP right?

I wouldn't think so. Just dry it as you normally would when performing an ONR wash.

I don't normally clay then apply an LSP anyway. I know some do if they use a REAL gentle clay.

The mixture ratio of ONR that I've found effective and very safe as clay lube is 1 Gallon of distilled water to 10oz of ONR, this may seem a lot but try it and see what a difference it makes. I use this to replace FK146 to finish up a car after ONR wash in a WOWO fashion.

Yup 2 capfuls = ounce for ONR
