One Grand? Gliptone?

Does anyone here use these products? I have a buddy that swears by One Grand products and his truck looks fantastic. I also picked up a Gliptone clay bar and I think I've heard some good things about their metal polish and leather care products as well...it looked like they had a decent selection of car products but I haven't read much through my searches on either of these brands. Is everyone here just 'into' what they're familiar with and what is most talked about on here, or is there a reason these products aren't quite as popular? Please reply if you have first hand input, I'm curious!

I have used One Grand since around '95. I know the owners quite well- live 30 min. from their location. They ARE coming out with two new products soon. I understand their Blitz Wax is even better, but have not used it in some time. I have a customer that buys One Grand from me and it's the only line he uses.

Their chrome polish is very good as is their wash shampoo- low foam, but great shine. They have a long history with good products and have a lot of solid customers. I do not know the other one you mentioned.

If you want to try some send PM. I have extra product here with me.

I think they are not as popular because it's John and Rick running the entire operation. They do not market the same way others do. They keep busy- I have been there to see pallets of Blitz going to overseas markets. They are not flashy guys who go online and post- if they did, they would be better known, but could not keep up with demand. There are no other employees in the shop- just R and J. Super nice guys. You can call them anytime!

The first Carnauba wax in my collection was One Grand, that's true Alan81, that's the problem with it. But it's a great winter wax if you want to use it until your tin is empty, i might do that next winter as a topper to WGDPS 3.0. I tell everyone that talks about trying One Grand blitz wax to double check to make sure every part of their trim is taped up properly, with every application of One Grand Blitz.:waxing:

Blitz is one of the better true, nubas available. I dont see the trim being an issue, just be careful (as with most petroleum refined products).

You might be more careful than some of us all-thumbs people :o

But yeah, every One Grand product I've tried was at least OK and usually better than that.

Staining trim That is the only strike against One Grand Blitz Wax. It reminds my of older formulations of wax when I first started taking care of my vehicles. However, if I remember correctly, Blitz Wax has very good durability andgloss. Not a deal breaker for me if trim pieces are properly taped up, but for non-Autopian details I do use products that are more user friendly.

+1. It's a great heavy-duty carnauba and an exceptional value.

Their QD product is in a class by itself...if you want something to freshen up the wax coat.

That is the one thing I left out of my post Blitz back in the day had great durability

and it was only about $24 a tin.

Their Blitz now is a bit different and from what Rick and John tell me, puts out a glow- this is how a regular customer explains it. Yes, their Show Off is another good product over the Blitz.

I had a few customers that we applied it every four weeks and it did great things to the depth and so forth. They have a two new products coming out soon, but no details yet.

There are great things out there, but I find that I can apply certain sealants and remove in min. if done right. If someone wants Blitz, they need to pay for the time.

If it's for my own use, then fine.
