One Bucket Two Bucket Mulit Dip...Hut Hut

I was searching the archives on MF towels and came across old post with folks mentioning the "two bucket method" and 2 dips or 3 dips. Can anyone explain this? I think I have an idea, but no one went into too much detail. Are you diping the wash mit into one bucket for soap then after washing a panel, rinsing the mit out in the second bucket or is there more to this 2 bucket deal.

Bucket 1 has clean water. Bucket 2 has soapy water.



Wash panel, rinse in #1 really good, then dip in #2 and repeat.



I found it easier to just use 1 bucket. Dip, wash panel, Then spray with hard stream of water from mulitple directions. Takes EVERYTHING out really fast.

Thanks for the clarification. I really never thought to doing that.

Another tip I learned on this site was to wash the rims and tires first, then wash the paint. (changing the water and wash mit of course). That way when your finished with the paint you can immediately start drying before the water spots.



Guess there is a method to this madness.....

I use the "two bucket method"..actually, it's 4 buckets, since I use the 2 bucket method for doing the wheels and tires with buckets that are "job specific"



I use different wash mitts and also some soft brushes that are also"job specific".

I just spray the mitt with the flat option on the gun... it works better than the second bucket if you ask me.

Actually, the main reason for washing wheels and tires first is to remove the wheel and brake dust first. That way you don't spray the paint with brake dust after you have washed and cleaned it. :xyxthumbs

I don't know about other wheel cleaners, but my EO A2Z also says to spray it onto a DRY wheel, so doing the wheels first makes double sense there.
