One Bright Yellow Saturn

Well I spent the last couple days working on detailing my sisters Saturn..Let me tell you this thing was a mess, interior and exterior wise. It has not been touched since we bought it 4 years ago and it is barely washed.



Interior

The process that was used was..

Cleaned door jambs, and runners - Megs Extra

Vacuum the entire car - Little Shop Vac

Shampooed floor mats - Meg Heavy Duty Carpet Cleaner

Then went to wiping down all interior surfaces - Damp m/f

Cleaned and conditioned the leather - Megs 2 step

Conditioned all interior pieces and applied dressing - Megs 40 AMAZING product

Cleaned inteior glass - GM glass cleaner

Shampooed interior carpets - Megs Heavy Duty Carpet Cleaner



Exterior

Degreased engine - Simple green, light pressure nozle, brushes

Cleaned rims, tires and wheel wells - Black Magic Wheel cleaner, Simple Green

Washed the car - Megs Gold Class, Lambswool Mit

Clay barred the car - Megs C2000 Clay

Polished the car - Megs DACP with the Porter Cable

Waxed the car - Megs NXT Tech Wax with the Porter Cable

Dressed the tires - Megs Endurance Gel

Cleaned exterior glass and mirrors - GM Class Cleaner

I can see how bad it was and you did a great job. I hope your sister appreciates your hard work. She must be a "good sister". Something like this could keep you on her "A" list for life. I see good Christmas presents for a long time. OHHH detailing supplies. Make the list for her !!!!

btw - has that car got 3 doors?It looks like a small one on the drivers side, but not on the passenger side - hows that work out??
 
Love that colour, and at first I thought the car wasn't too bad in the before shots. THen I saw what you did with the after shots, excellent work. I defo got to get a Yellow car one day :)

yup - saturn SLs have 3 doors.
 
Hey guys thanks for all the kind replies...



The car I felt turned out pretty good too and I am crossing my fingers that it will remain in this shape from here on out...



In total for the whole process it took about 14 hours with interuptions like eating and phone calls and such...I guess I took my time but I think it was worth it



Yes it has 3 doors. All the S series cars had a third door behind the driver and the new IONs have one on each side (which makes more sense to me) The door does come in handy though from time to time

Great job, one of the few cars I actually think look pretty good in yellow. Was is kind of hard to do the plastic body panels? We had a saturn a few years ago I thought they were awesome, but that was before autopia so I never really polished them.
