Theoretically, if you put on in a vacuum tunnel, it could do 5,000 mph. That's NY to London in 54 minutes .

In 2001, I rode the Shinbasa bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto and it reached abour 160mph which was pretty quick but this is something else entirely.
