Old product, new use

Hi all,

Thought I'd share this since I've been doing it for a few weeks now and it it seems to be working really well.

I have about 1/2 bottle of Klasse Sealant Glaze that sat on the shelf for ages, since even though it's a a classic, it's ease of use leaves a bit to be desired.

Anyway, I usually wax or seal my wheels with whatever sealant I use on the car. Between LSP treatments, the wheels just get a thorough wash.

Remembering that Klasse All-in-One has been used by some successfully as a QD when diluted, I searched and found a couple threads about doing the same thing with the SG. So I figured I'd give it a shot.

For the last 3 weeks, after a wash (including the wheels), I just spray down the wheel with the diluted (1:10, SG:water) solution when I dry the wheel.

It's working great. Goes on and wipes right off. Brake dust (I have a BMW, so lots of that around!) comes off almost completely using just the hose, and seems to not build up as quickly. And the wheels look good and feel slicker than they used to.

Anyway, I was pleased to find a use for a product that likely would have just sat around growing old and thought I'd share....

Sounds great Andrew. I have always applied SG in a spray bottle and found its ease of use to be greatly improved. Did you cut it with tap water or did you use filtered/DI water?

First time I tried was with a tiny 5 oz sample spray bottle and I just used tap water. it worked fine, so I put it into a recycled Mothers QD bottle (they spray really nicely, and I get them since I use Mother's Clay) and used distilled water.

Didn't have any issues with the tap water, but over time I could see it could theoretically cause a difference, and we use distilled water in the iron so it's always around anyway...

It's a great idea. I was planning on mixing some up @ 3:1 / Water:SG to see how it would react a a winter spray sealant.

Nice! Thanks for sharing.

I find it really keeps from bugs getting stuck on the front bumper as well.

Also I dont have to use claybar nearly as often when using KSG.

The only way I can even get KSG to spread in my weather (windy) conditions is too use a very wet applicator with it and remove it immediately.

I have grown to love it !
