Old microfiber towel uses

That moment that you decide that a towel goes

to interior use, or tire duty, is that your last stop

for towel use? Do you have anything that you use them for afterwards?

Of course, you can use them all over your house, but

can you put them to use for your business? I have

a couple of things planned for these dead towels.

I plan on making some microfiber aprons for my crew.

something simple with a few pockets. Sure, you could

make an entire apron, but modifying a cheap apron

with microfiber pockets is a possible alternative.

I also want to make some microfiber bonnets for

brushes and wands for drying Rv surfaces.

Another possible project is to make cord protectors

for my porter cable and similar equipment. Just a

simple wrap around the cord would protect paint.

Do you have any ideas for uses of these towels?

No, I usually trash them.

Or, if they are still usable and fairly clean, I use them for my house windows or wheel wells on my cars.

But that's as far as it goes. I don't push it too far.

Tires and the AutoGlym Bumper Care that I use on the Tahoe's running boards.  That and nasty-stuff household duty.

Old MF towels make the best shoe shine buffers but not the ultra plush or the waffle weaves - short naps are best.  Spread the polish on the shoes with a shoe polish brush (a tooth brush will do in a pinch but not recommended) and then use a soft bristle brush to work the polish into the leather.  The last step is the buff and shine and that is where your old MF towels come in.  Best looking shoes in the county!!!

I give them to our range instructors so we have decent towels to clean our weapons with after a day of shooting.

I use them for metal polishing - taking off mostly - and not on the truly high gloss surfaces - but after that, I trash them.  I never try to wash a cloth I've used for metal polish.
