Old clay?

I just bought a clay kit off the shelf. (Meguiar's Quick Clay) When I pulled the clay bar out, I noticed it seemed a little hard on one side of the bar. I haven't taken it out of the plastic yet. Has anyone ever seen this happen? Would you return it? Should I be concerned about an old bar?

I don't think anything happens to it when it gets old, but Meg's changed their clay about a year ago. The first Quik Clay kit I got the bar had cracks in it and hard bits would break off when you kneaded it. It was like a rock; the new stuff is like silly putty (as they all should be). If you've got that cracked, hard stuff, I'd take it back and get some somewhere else.

I have old and new MEG clay. The new one seems to be soft and like putty as Mike describes. Try to knead first see if it's getting soft. Else, you may want to return it.
