i gotta admit you were all right. the waffle weave microfiber (mine from ranney) drying towels are VASTLY superior to the absorber. when i bought this very same absorber years ago i thought it was a modern miracle. but man, waffle weaves blow the absorber away. one swipe with no water streaking.

i'm sold now. any of you who haven't used ww's yet for drying really ought to give it a shot. so much faster.

I have three of Ranney's WWs and don't plan to ever buy another brand. They are large, thirsty and gentle on the paint. What more could you ask for? I haven't even seen my absorber in months.

hmh, over here a meguiar's ultimate wipe microfiber towel costs about 20$ and that's about the selection of MF:s we have.

There are some "cheap" MF:s for household use, they just are too small and really thin, I normally only use them for QD:ing.

A waffle wave would be an extreme luxury.

Ordering from US would be a choise too, the price just hikes up with all the shipping charges and customs.. It's just starting to look like it would still be worth it :) Any recommendations which brand to choose and where to order from?

Welcome to the Dark Side, admac! Ain't life grand over here? :lol I'd give up a lot of other things in life before I'd give up my big WW drying towel.

i have 4 waffle weaves, one for each member of my family (including my dog!). i was just wondering, do you guys like to wash your waffle weaves, of just dry them after youre done using them?

The funny thing is that in years from now they will discover something better then the WW

I have a WW from Patrick that I just received early this week. Of course I washed my car right away because I was so anxious to see what all the raving was about with the WW.

I was definitely amazed. When I was almost done using the CWB, it started raining, so I pulled the car into the garage, and pulled out the WW. I dried off the whole car (even though the roof, hood, and trunklid/spoiler were covered in beads of rain) without ringing it out once. It was just beginning to streak a bit when I finished. My chamois would have needed to be wrung out a good 10 times or more.

I love my WW!

I just got my order today and have some WW now. I will wash the car tomorrow so I can use it. :) I have used the absorber in the past so I am anxious to give the WW a try. :D

Glad you guys are realizing the power and convenience of waffle weaves! Theres a waffle weave for just about every situation! Mini's, mediums, Large, super large ! All you have to do is look and/or ask.....!

yeah waffle weave mfs are great. i only used an absorber for a couple months b4 i started hating it, started using white cotton towels. but microfibers are a revelation !!

and i let mine dry unless they somehow pick up dirt. wash them every 2-3 carwashes or so. i use cheap microfibers from costco for most the dirty jobs, my big blue towels see nothing but clean water.

I have the purple Ultimate Drying Towel WW from Autopia and love it. Unfortunately they don't sell it anymore. The Sonus drying towel is probably good too; the Sonus MF I have are all very good.

I've been doing a lot of detailing lately so I've been washing my MF at least once a week and it is easy to throw the WW in too. I can see not washing it every time you use it though because that's where most of the wear & tear takes place.

After years of using terry cloth I'm a convert!

I have 13 waffle weaves.

2 from CMA - Big Blues

2 from PakShak

5 from Autopia- 2 Sonus and 3 of the 16 x 24 detailing towels.

4 from Autogeek- 2 of the large purple ones and two 16 x 24.

They are all a little different but all work great. The two 16 x 24 from Autogeek are the ones I use for windows. They only get used on the windows and get washed seperate from the other MF I own. Best towels I have used on windows. No lint, glides across the window without grabbing but still has lots of bite. No streaks.
