Ok, why am I so puzzled by this.....

I did a search on the foam gun and I read through all the threads and I am 100% puzzled.

Ok, it's obvious that the foamgun has multiple dilution ratios.... 1 oz/per gallon of water etc...

Now would that mean 1 oz. of chemical per gallon of water? Which wouldn't that mean if you have 1 oz. of soup in the canister, by the time 1 gallon of water flows out that 1 oz. of product would flow out... which in turn means a soap that requires 1 oz or product per gallon be sprayed at the correct dilution without pre-diluting in it?

I think I'm missing something here?

It seems like everyone is pre-diluting and I can't figure out why...

Because many shampoos are too thick to properly draw up the siphon tube unless you dilute them. If they pour out of the bottle like honey, they aren't going to draw right. The thin shampoos I use straight in the foam gun cup. Also, a lot of people use much lower dilution ratios than 1oz/gal, so since the lowest setting on the gun is 1oz/gal, you need to dilute the wash in the cup if you want to go lower than that.
