Ok to clay over vinyl stripes?

Usually you can. The trouble is there are so many different qualities of vinyl decals out there. Just be careful and don't use much pressure.

Don’t clay “into the edges of vinyl applications.

Clay “off or “along the edges.

If you clay into an edge you can get clay build-up on it. If the condition of the vinyl or adhesive is marginal you might start to lift it.

This is a good reason to have one of the clay sponges on hand. Just use the clay sponge along the edge and you'll be fine. Same with clear bras. You can use them for the whole car, but my understanding is they tend to mar a bit more than regular clay might.

I find that claying along the edge of vinyl decals and clear bras is the only way to really clean the krud that builds up there. As long as your are gentle and pay attention you should be okay.
