OK, lets bark up the OTHER tree - K-twins vs FMJ & family

I'd choose FMJ pretty much any day of the week.

I haven't done long term testing of the FMJ, but for every other area (application, slickness, beading, shine), I give the nod to FMJ.

I have never compared them side by side but Menzerna products are definately some of the best I have ever used, especially FMJ. I no longer use any products from Klasse. As Sean said above Menzerna gets the nod in all categories; value as well being that CMA is going to carry quarts of FMJ for $49.95 in March!!

FMJ is only a super polymer. A great product but klasse aio & sg are what I use the most.

No problems applying or removing (very thin coat and leave on paint for 24 hours before wiping off)

The K twins are ultra hard basecoats which super polymer sealants can be layered over for the ultimate protection.

On the one hand, we humans fool ourselves into thinking that something we've just spent a lot of money on works really well. "These new wires make my car a lot faster/make my speakers sound a lot cleaner"

On the other hand, spending twice as much on polishes and LSPs only increases the cost of doing your shine by a few bucks at most. Well worth it for an afternoon's pleasure and a week's driving satisfaction, even if the results are visible only to yourself!

Never used FMJ but it would have to be very very very good to make me buy it over Klasse. If it isn't, then it is very much overpriced.

Hey Corey, if you like SG, you will love FMJ. I just used it about 4 hours ago and was blown away. I will be posting pics later, check the click and brag later. I found SG to be very hard to remove and apply in my case. The FMJ is the easiest thing in the world to use, IMO. You will amazed at how easy it is to apply. And the removal is an absolute joke, it's so easy it's scary. I found FMJ to be easy to make thin coats as well. I am now a very big fan of FMJ, especially when it comes in quarts for $49.95, very well worth it in my book!!

I don't mind using Klasse SG. It never gave me a problem. And it is more durable than any other sealant I have tried.

I have WG on my car right now and I am dissappointed by it's durability one week into it... :(

Durability is the most important thing to me.

Don't blame you on WG sealant. On the car I used FMJ on today, I did WG/Natty's combo on it and it is gone in 3 months. I have heard good things about FMJ and durability. Hey is SG works for you, great. But if you get a shot at trying it, I would take it and give it a try!! Here is a pic from today!

I polished it using Menzerna PO85RD w/polishing, and topped w/FMJ x2.

WOW!!!

For that year of car, or for any of that matter...Looks absolutely stunning!

Nice choice of polish ;)

Thanks Sean, I'm about to post my work for today. Check the click and brag in a little bit. Yes, PO85RD is hands down the best I have used!

What is PO85RD? Final Polish? Intensive Polish, Finishing Glaze? I don't see these numbers associated with any of these products.

Hey Mike,

PO85RD is from Menzerna's Ceramiclear line of polishes. It is an incredible polish. It is a 1.5 of 5 in cut, and a 5 on gloss. (On a scales of 1 to 5) FP II is a 2 of 5 in cut, and a 4 in gloss. It is truly an amazing product, even with w/PC. I know a lot of people say that Menzerna is only good with a rotary, I find that to be untrue. I have had good luck with FP II, and PO85RD. I have PO106 on order which is a 2.5 of in cut, and 5 of 5 in gloss. The cutting action of PO106 is similiar to #80 and SSR 2, but should leave an incredible finish! Here are a couple of pics of my detail today using FMJ and PO85RD, and the link to my detail! An remember, this is 12 year old paint!!!
