OK Detailers Some Help is Needed

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I have a gas stove and it gets gunked up real fast, I have tried everything to get this build up grease deposits off, and nothing is working very effectively.

What I have used so far

Simple Green BBQ cleaner
PB APC 100%
PB S&R
PB PP
Oven Cleaner
Steel wool, effective to a center point but to aggressive on the surface

What I am thinking is getting a steamer

I have also looked for covers for this stove and not had any luck finding the square ones, anyone know a place I can get those please post the link

Thanks

your answer is Mr. Clean magic erasers ;)

Try again Steve I just tried that we had some, this stuff is BAKED!!!! ON!!!!

I used a scraper and I can lift some of it, I tried that in conjunction with cleaners and it a no go, plus I don't want to scrape threw the finish

are you using it just slightly damp? don't get those erasers too wet or they lose their bite

If the stove is porcelen just use a single edge razor blade. Thats what I use on my wifes stove. After all porcelen is like glass , and you would use a razor on glass.

We have electric range but if something boils over and makes a mess like that the best thing that I have used for it is totally awesome.

I buy it at the Dollar Tree store everything in their is a dollar and that is the name on the bottle is TOTALLY AWESOME

This morning I was helping the wife clean the house and after cleaning the TV & VCR which is plastic I used PB trim restore on them and they look better than new.

Try oven cleaner, I was trying to clean my stove that had the baked on stuff like that on it and my wife came in and sprayed oven cleaner on it. The stuff just wiped away. She owns a cleaning company and uses it on stove tops and glass flat tops all the time.

Easy Off oven cleaner or the stuff you can get at Smart & Final which is an industrial version of Easy Off. I think it's basically a form of Lye and it will dissolve that baked on crud so you can wipe it off easily.

Easy Off is dangerous on the skin and no fun to breathe in the fumes. And you certainly don't get it into you eyes. So take all the common sense precautions.

Thanks its a plan of attack this coming weekend, I will let you know how it comes out.

I looked as best my monitor will render, and really can't tell if there is any surface rust involved or not. I would first turn on the burners and allow the surface to warm up just a bit, then I would try some orange oil based cleaners if you have access. The Orange Clean Paste Cleaner is a great product and is a wonderfully safe and effective cleaner for ovens and cooktops. If you can't purchase that in your area try to buy some Orange TKO and make your own paste cleaner. Highly recommended by Mr. Clean :D

Larry

I gave that a try and it works great, slow but takes it off. This weekend I plan to get some oven cleaner, spray on then use the scraper to release the rest. That should do it!!
