Hi all

Been trying to find info on this via the forums but I failed...

Anyway, here's my questions

1) seeing that S100=P21S, and S100 does not seem to have a shampoo in its line-up, does this mean that I should use P21S Bodywork Conditioning Shampoo with it?

2) also, I'm planning to use #34 FI as a QD for the S100, any foreseeable problems?

3) so would I be correct to say that it would produce good results (by your standards) to do the following steps?

a- P21S Shampoo

b- MG#9 SMR

c- S100 SEC

d- S100 wax

e- MG#34 FI

Am currently using a Zaino setup and would like to make comparisons.

Thank you for your time.

You really want to have a shampoo that makes good suds, is tough on dirt but won't strip your wax/sealant. P21s shampoo meets that criteria but there are other products that have given great results also. Like Megs Gold Class shampoo, a benefit to GC is that it is readily available and not very expensive.

Hi again guys, after reading 12 pages of search results about S100/P21S... I have a final list of questions to Autopians who have had good results and intensive experience on the product.

I'm getting 3-5 jars of S100 next month (hopefully I can get AlBoston's leftover S100 as well :P) when my friend goes to Orlando for a company thing...

Here are my listed questions, hopefully other S100/P21S converts can use this as a guide as well to save time from searching...

1) How to use S100? (assuming the paint has been through prepping)

- What applicator to use, what towel to remove.

- How thin per "swipe" of the applicator to the wax.

- Around how much product will be used per car? (a tablespoon? 2? etc...)

- How many layers is "optimal"?

- How long does it take to haze.

2) How long does a SINGLE coat of S100 last? How many washes, rain exposure, dust, etc.

3) How well does S100 protect against watermarks, light swirls (from washing), rainfall, etc.

4) Where can we get the cheapest S100 online, I'm not from the US or Canada so Harley shops are non-existent?

5) Are there any combination of products that WONT work with S100? Like any specific QD, shampoo, etc?

Judging by how cost efficient S100 is per application, I think having 3 jars for our detailing shop is sufficient for the time being...

Thanks in advance...

P.S. I'm not anywhere near North America so pretty much all my questions are circled around S100 itself and not on any accompanying products

The best place to find it would probably be a local Harley shop. You could get it online, and maybe save a few bucks, but the shipping costs would probably make the savings non existant.

In your list of what you are doing, i would swap out the first step of washing with P21S Shampoo to washing with some Dawn. I've (and many others have) found that before doing a full job, dawn works the best at removing all the stuff that's on the surface that you don't want to be. Then again the #9 will probably get all that off anyway.

I don't think it's a matter of any products that won't work with it, vs products that will work better than others. #34 is a good choice of something that's pretty universal. For a shampoo if you don't want to use the P21S Shampoo then try out QEW. I haven't used QEW with s100 yet, but i believe scottwax does, and if anyone knows what works with s1000 it'd be him.

As for the rest of the stuff on durability and all that, check out the chart towards the bottom of this: http://www.properautocare.com/p21spastewax.html page

the chart from CMA says it lasts 90 days it lasted about a month on my truck thats outside 24/7 and it lasted about 2 on my cousins car thats not drove alot and is garage kept

I'm more concerned with "typical" car owners who will not take much effort in cleaning their daily-driven cars...

Note that I'm going to serve this to customers, not my own car...

Thanks

my car currently only has a single coat of s100 on it, and has lasted over a month, parked outside of my apartment in the sun, with dusty winds and dirt from the construction next door falling on it. i'm amazed at how clean it keeps the car (relative to my previous wax, megs gold class)

S100 comes with its own applicator pad. I use that or the Meguiars pads. I use a few good MF to buff.

You can apply S100 pretty thin(at least 25 coats per jar)

- How many layers is "optimal"?

- How long does it take to haze.

No need to let haze. Apply and buff off immediately.

I get about a month out of a couple coats of S100 for my daily driver.

You wipe it on very thin. Just dab the foam pad on the wax then wipe on the car, you can feel a slight drag when it is time to dip the pad into the jar again. No need to wait until is hazes, wipe on a section, then wipe off.

One layer is fine, but I use two on my car, applied one day apart, although I've also applied them back to back and that seems fine also.

2) How long does a SINGLE coat of S100 last? How many washes, rain exposure, dust, etc.

I'm getting about 3 months of beading on cars that I wash with QEW, which seems to be very gentle on wax. I have a couple customers that prefer I use a hose and conventional car wash soap, and I get 8-10 weeks of beading on their cars.

3) How well does S100 protect against watermarks, light swirls (from washing), rainfall, etc.

Very well. It is a very slick wax that seems to resist drying swirls, provided you use mf towels.

4) Where can we get the cheapest S100 online, I'm not from the US or Canada so Harley shops are non-existent?

Can't help with that one, I've always bought it at my local Harley Dealer.

5) Are there any combination of products that WONT work with S100? Like any specific QD, shampoo, etc?

Haven't found any yet. I've been using Clearkote's Vanilla Moose as my final polish prior to S100 and Quikshine for my QD. I've washed S100-ed cars with QEW, Kit's Carnuba Car Wash, Turtle Wax Emerald Car Wash, Turtle's Wash 'n Wax, all with good results.

I wouldn't be suprised if that is enough for at least 120 cars.

Great info... esp to Scott... :) thanks again...

Also, do you store your S100 in the ref? hehe.. just wondering coz it might dry out... :P

8-12 weeks is good, factor in our weather, so I expect it to last a month or 6 weeks tops... still not bad... #26 barely lasts a week and a half here.

I keep the extras in my storage room where my washer and dryer are and leave the opened one in my trunk, summer and winter. Neither heat nor cold seem to affect it.

Guys, who manufactures P21S/S100? Can anybody give me a contact number, email or website? Desperately need an exporter... Thanks

like stated above id wash with Dawn first to clean off all remaing wax ect.

My spring cleaning will be

Dawn

Clay

S100

i use #20 poly sealant in pre winter.

Gold Class soap is the best soap ive ever used:up its what i use on a reg basis, and what can i say about S100 but:bow very easy to use, apply thin layer, then buff with MF; no waiting to haze, great shine!! And i also use Meg Final inspeciton #34, find i does a fantastic job, esp on bird droppings, carry one in your trunk:xyxthumbs

oh god how i cant wait till summer:cool:

Bot 1000ml of BMW shampoo @ $7.25 + tax. Dif color and scent from P21S, but the bottle and cap design is the same, just larger of course. Also Made in Germany. Have read here prev that it is rebranded P21S. Trying it out tomorrow for the first time. I'm sure its going to prove to be a quality product at half the the price in addition to local availability. PS: Meg GClass seems to leave a residue regardless of how little I use?

As regards a QD that works well with P21S, I have used #34, Zymol Field Galze, Gliptone, Mothers, and Pinnacle Crystal Mist.

I really like #34, and still recommend it, but I personally prefer Pinnacle Crystal Mist.

What are the differences?

-Price: #34 for about $6 vs. $20 for Crystal Mist.

-Content: Crystal Mist has carnauba in it.

-Results: Crystal Mist, IMHO, seems to darken dark paint, and be less likely to streak.

Given the price difference, you can stick with #34, it's a great product, especially at the price. But if you can stomach forking over $20 for a QD, give the Crystal Mist a try, just to see for yourself. I personally like a QD with Carnauba bcs it helps the P21S underneath it last a little longer. I pay extra for the Crystal Mist, but that's me.

guess i'll have to stick with #34 since it's easily available here as CKQS and Crystal Mist would have to be imported...

anyway, thanx for all the tips guys!
