OHC with a PC?

I was ordering pads and polish - optimum poliish and compound. Was going to order the hyper compound but it said it was only recommended for use with a rotary.

Is that right?

Anybody used OHC with a pc ?

I've used it. It's not as aggressive as you would think, unless I'm a victim of the reported inconsistency of the Optimum polishes prior to them getting their own blending equipment. You'll want to use a cutting or orange pad with it (to make sure it breaks down...not that there seems to be any grit to break down). I'm not sure that the major element of the Optimum polishes isn't the lubrication value and letting the pad do the work more so than the abrasive in the polish.

I've used OHC via PC on an LC Orange Pad and it did a great job for me.. If I had to compare it, I would compare it to Megs DACP with slightly more kick to it. I just bought mine about 2 weeks ago. On a Black Audi that I used it on it left basically a ready to wax finish with slight slight marring which cleaned up real quick.

I was able to take out some pretty bad rotary holograms that were in the fender making 2 passes with OHC and the Cutting Pad.

Also in my test with it, a little bit of this stuff goes a very long way.. I believe the bottle is 32 ounces it will last you a long time. It does not dust or dry per say, leaves such minor marring. IMO, The entire Optimum Compound/Polish line is just killer, I love it.

I LOVE OHC with my PC. It can take out some pretty nasty swirls, then just step down to a finishing polish and you are done. Quick and effective 2 step polish that packs a punch. Works forever and no dust. A winner in my book.

I've used it with a rotary and a cutting pad and it worked well- Mixed 50/50 with a milder polish and it will leave a LSP ready finish by RO

Absolutely these polishes leave virtually no dust in comparison to SSR2.5 or DACP. I expected the OHC to be noticeably more aggressive than those two polishes, however...and I just didn't find it to be that way. I was hoping for SSR3 with out the flavor crystals, but I couldn't really tell the difference between OHC and OC...I was changing back and forth and really couldn't tell any difference for what I was doing.

Thank-you for the responses.

!@#$ Oh well. I guess I sgould have ordered in along with the rest. I was almost ready to click 'add to cart' when I noticed the 'recommended to be used with a rotary polisher' so I didn't order:

Optimum Hyper Compound

I'm fairly new to polishing and w/o going overboard I'm trying to have the appropriate combinations on hand, so for example, I'm not pushing a finer polish on a cutting pad to do a job that really requires (or would be easier with) more agressive compound. I may even eventually get a rotary too...but I want to get real comfortable with the PC 7424 DA first and there are so many combinations of pads and polishes/compounds. This whole polishing thing seems like one of those combinations of art and science.

I agreee...I use OHC on an orange pad and then finish with Menzerna FPII on my black Audi. I was able to take out some serious rotary holograms by *taking my time* and letting the OHC breakdown. In one spot I did 2 passes with OHC. The FPII leaves a great finish. I followed with Zaino Z5 and Z2 pro. I wash and follow up with Z6 for maintenance now. I'm constantly getting compliments on the paint.

Both OC and OHC are being reformulated to be more aggressive. I THINK the new OC will be hitting shelves soon, and the new OHC is in it's last phase or 2 of testing, so those that are looking for a more agressive product may wish to wait a bit until the new stuff comes out.
