Odd Question

Ok. I'm selling the spoiler on my car for a carbon fiber version of the same spoiler. I'll be selling the spoiler before the replacement comes in, so I'm going to need to cover the holes in the trunk lid with something. I've used electrical tape before, and I don't like the idea of doing that this time around because i've worked hard to make the paint swirl free as possible. Does anyone have some tips or products to use. I hope that they are only on there for a week tops...but that will depend on how slow the company is to ship my new spoiler.

The electrical tape shouldn't swirl the paint--might leave some residue that will require solvent action to remove, tho. There are some other vinyl tapes which may leave less residue...I wouldn't use anything other than tape to seal the holes, it's pretty foolproof.

I agree with Mike (Setec Astronomy) about the tape. Use a high quality electrical tape such as 3M Scotch brand 33, that's the best out there. It's not cheap, but I have seen it at Wal-Mart for less than $5 a roll.

Get a roll of 3M Scotch Super 88 tape and use it .. I have had it on my front end all winter and other parts .. comes right off with no residue .. cheap tape = problems.
