OCW v2 over OS?

About to grab some ONR in bulk and contemplating some OVW v2 at the same time, to save shipping etc. I've never used the stuff, but hankered after it for a while as I rather like the idea of a product that can layer up over time, provide protection and add to the look.

My question is whether it would be worth getting it to top OS every few weeks, to add something to the look, or am I better of just regularly topping us the OS itself? Also, can it be used over a nuba and then topped again in future with another layer of a nuba wax without issues?

I guess I just want to understand if this is versatile and worth a place on the shelf? I already have OS, UPGP and Jeffs AJT ;)

thanks

Its good stuff

I've not done more than two layers, but the look improved with the second layer. It also resists dirt and grime very well. I use it on my polished billet wheels to keep them cleaner longer. Ive also seen people using it over OS after 1hr or using it to buff off a hazed over 'nuba

I'm somewhat interested in trying OCW myself.

Can you tell me your opinion on OS vs. Werkstatt's AJT?

I have both of those as well, just interested in hearing your opinion.

I've done the new OCW after ONR on 3 different cars with great results. Actually, all of them got at least 1 coat of Opti-seal too. It's good stuff. very easy to work with and smells good!

ordered some anyway, what the heck ;)

Rob - IMHO OS & AJT have quite a different look. OS seems to give that glassy look, with that slightly artificial wet look. AJT seems to just bring out the colour of the paint with a rich shine, and not so much wet. I really like the look of AJT as well, especially on paints with a good flake. A few layers beads really well and it lasts superbly. I also like how easy it is to use, although not quite WOWA easy like OS etc.

OCWv2 has a more carnauba look than OS so I like it more on dark solid color cars than OS. The also play well together.

Thanks for the feedback.

I find AJT to be just as easy to apply as OS. The reason for that is that you have to be pretty careful with OS or you will over apply it and get streaks (high spots). As a result, it takes me awhile to get the sealant applied, even though I don't have to wipe it off.

With AJT, you don't have to worry so much about over application. Just spray and wipe. Since you do have to wipe, it does add one more step than OS, but the application is so much easier (and therefore quicker) that it basically becomes a wash in terms of ease of application between the two (imo of course).

You are right. You can apply AJT without worrying about over-applying the product unlike OS. OCW is similar in application to AJT. I like the glowing look of OCW over a base coat of OS.

really looking forward to this now :D

car is going to get a once over with Prime Acrylic to clean the existing old wax and set up a base, 2x OS over a couple of days, then regular top ups of OCW
