OCW Observation

Today after washing and drying my car, I used OCW. After I was done, I noticed a spot that looked like bird bomb residue. I put a pinhead amount of Klasse AIO on a MF and removed the spot. When I wiped the AIO off, I noticed that the spot where the AIO was applied was much slicker feeling that the OCW as I ran my finger over the paint. What does this mean? Perhaps OCW does not add as much in the way of slickness like AIO does. I wonder how long OCW really lasts..... It doesn't take too much more effort to apply and wipe off AIO than using OCW. I might just go back to AIO/UPP for my paint. After weekly washes, I'll just QD with Quikshine.

I used OCW for a while. The thing to remember is that OCW is more of a sealant than it is a wax. As with most sealants, the magic appears 24 hours after being applied.

But, I am mainly refering to the glossy shine that will appear 24 hours later. I never did notice OCW being slick however.

I have since moved onto Zaino. BTW, Zaino is slick !!!!

If you want something as easy to use as OCW and have the slickness of Zaino Z8, than you got to try out the new Jeffs Werkstatt Acrylic Jett Trigger.

AIO is really slick right out of the gate. OCW has decent slickness but it improves over a few hours. It has a richer look, IMO than just AIO.

It could also be that the cleaners in AIO not only removed the bird bomb residue but something else on the paint that OCW just covered since it doesn't have any cleaners.

I have been fully confident in OCW protective abilities that I use it regularly as a stand alone LSP on customer's cars.

I agree with scott. I'm thinking there was some sort of surface contamination that the AIO removed that the OCW was only covering.

Got to agree with Scottwax on this, the cleaners in AIO could have contributed to the slickness :)

Thanks for the replies autopians. What you say makes sense. Scott, are you using OCW instead of Quikshine or in addition to?

I'm almost out of OCW, but I was applying it with a microfiber and NOT turning it. I just keep rubbing until there is no trace of it. I leave it for a few and remove with Quikshine. Slickness is there! :)

If you are using Quikshine after applying OCW, that is what adds the slickness.

Well I knew the slickness of Quikshine before I knew what the slickness of OCW was. This is definitely slicker than just Quikshine alone. I like the idea of rubbing it in and letting it 'bond' for 30 minutes or so. You can definitely tell when the OCW hasn't been wiped off.
