OCW As Standalone LSP?

I applied some OCW to my car the other day and was amazed by how good it looked for a spray wax. It blew me away. I dont know if it had anything to do with the Nattys red under but it looked great. Anyways, tomorrow I plan on polishing and I was just wondering if OCW is good as a standalone LSP. Im not worried about durability as my car gets washed once a week atleast and with the ease of use I could reapply it. Im talking about in terms of UV protection, bird bombs etc etc

I tried using it as he only LSP for a few months on one car, worked pretty well, just reapply it after every or every second wash.

Hey diesel is there e reason you prefer it as a topper? Did you have a bad experience with it as a standalone or is it simply because most spray waxes are usally topper and not good on their own?

I used to use OCW as a standalone...either OCW or DGAW. I found that waxing once per month was sufficient to retain apparently reasonable protection, measure by strong, tight water beading.

I have since put on 2 coats of opti seal for the winter since I wont be washing for 2-3 months straight. Sometime next year, I'll probably buy a gallon of OCW

I find that the beading properties dropped off in 2-3 weeks, so I tend to use it as a "topper" or maintenance type wax. It works wonderfully for that task, IMO.

I know many find that it lasts into the "months" category though, pretty impressive!

I know there are many other wax/sealants that can be used this way but, lately I have been using a 2 handed application.

Saturate a wax pad with OCW and quickly wipe an area and with the other hand dry with MF. Once the motion is down, it goes on even quicker.

I also have a gallon to kill so that might explain why i use it so much.

I've been thinking about getting some OCW. I currently use Four Star Spray wax plus and the Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl 2. They smell and look like the same product, but the EF seems to leave more gloss and protection behind. The only issue I find with the EF CP2 is that it seems to accent swirl marks.

Thanks for your guys opinions. I'm going to try it out and see how it goes both looks wise and durability.

Try washing with ONR and spray on OCW before you dry. If you do that every wash or even every other wash then durability will not be an issue and neither will the time it takes.
