Sure we do bikes! This paint work had seen better days. The client had just got this bike repainted. I will say the paint was nice and flat.... The finish work left a lot to be desired. We knew what to do!

Inspection under LED after washing. Not horrible...

Using my flex light showed a different story!

Testing! 123 Testing!!! I think I'm on the right track! This was tedious as the paint on this was very soft and marred with almost every towel I had removing polish residue.

50/50 on the body line to see the extent of the damage. This bike was COVERED in scratches!

After all the part of the bag that weren't easily accessible were corrected and coated I put them back on to do the rest. No tape line but you get it!

Fast forward and after we got the paint all dialed in and coated we pulled it out side!

The paint work came out amazing! The customer did not want the bright work so it just received a quick wipe down. It got to my OCD a little leaving the wheels dirty but even the customer said "I told you not to! Don't worry, BTW I'm pretty sure you really have OCD"

looks great joe. if that paint was Harley's vivid black, I feel your pain. that paint is notoriously soft and seems to scratch just looking at it. ocpro was a great call. I definitely think coatings on a mc are the only way to go.

Bikes are a labor of love, done many...that said nice work.

One tip for the next one that will add that finishing touch...on the exhaust pipes, take a good APC...spray in the inside part of the pipe (tip area) let dwell and use 0000 steel wool to remove the exhaust to reveal the bare metal..then I use a paint cleaner or metal polish to get some luster. An example of what I'm talking about:D

That's an 2003 100th Anniversary bike. I don't believe they used the notorious "Vivid Black" on that one. The issues were probably due to the client recently get his bike repainted.

...and yes, I have done the H-D "Vivid Black" and if you just breathed on it, it would scratch. Shame on you HD for releasing a beautiful bike with such a horribly soft black paint.
