Bring on another pony! I've seen a lot of these lately. Its like field of dreams but instead of "if you build it they will come". It is "If you can get black dialed, you will always be busy". This car had issues! Lots of random scratches, buffer halos, and a very dull appearance. That is ok though I knew what to do
. So I started out with a wash and decontamination of the paint. The film on the hood was destroyed by what looked like cats so I used the film at a tape line before pulling it and...
After polishing above the line(no clue why anyone would do a partial kit on a car of this caliber). You can see with just a compounding pass I made a huge improvement
After this it was pulled back inside to have glue residue removed and rest of trim/vents were masked off.
The rear end of this car was horrible.
After a few compounding passes I'd say it was "dialed"
More defects!
Ta Da!
At this point I was pretty much done with the rear end and it was getting late so I called it a night.
Then I played a game of musical black cars that all had to be done by the end of the week! Guess its obvious the Bay Area KNOWS who to trust with black paint!
Next day had to play musical cars again before I could get back to work!
This was about 12 hours later and I had finished all my compounding and polishing! Just had to coat it! finished at about 3am and came back at 7, lets see what we got!
GLOSSY!
After the engine was done it does look "Tits" if I do say so
Some of the bay areas finest reflections easily seen here
Customer was beyond thrilled after picking it up, and we had an appointment to re the film in the new year.
HANDLED!
