OC/VM or OP/VM advice needed

maecrispy

Obsessed... who me?
Can anyone give me advice on OC/VM and OP/VM mixes? Will this combo work? Ratios would be nice and experience with it if you have any. I've seen the mixes with RMG but I don't have any at this point, the car is gold metallic anyway, and the detail is tomorrow.

Also, any advice on whether OP is enough to remove sever waterspotting (i.e. baked in drops from a sprinkler, you can feel them with your fingertips) or is OC warranted?

Your referring to actually mixing the products? Optimums cleaning and or distillates may counteract with the VM's oils. In other words, you may not see any benefit at all. Are you trying to save a step by doing this? :o

But if your determined, go with about a 4:1 ratio, and let us know.

I seriously doubt Opt Pol is going to do anything with etched waterspots. Compound may be in order with a orange or white spot pad.

Thanks Patrick. The idea is to get a little longer working time and to finish a little wetter and keep dusting down to a min. I'll be using an agressive pad with PC and I'd like to see if I can skip the light polish and go direct to LSP.

Some have used OC/RMG mix with good results and I was hoping I could do the same but with VM.

I think you're right about compound so I'll go with that.
