wanna make sure i have this right. nxt is a sealant and 845 is a wax correct?

i always thought nxt was a wax up until about 2 months ago.

I have never tried NXT so i can't help you out. In theory it shoudl work as long as you have no wax on the car already the NXT should bond correctly.

IME two coats of 845 works great, gloss, slickness, clarity and ofcourse durability ratios are some of the best you'll find. When it comes to winter protection 845 is the way to go. Just remember thin layers a little bit goes a long way with this product.

ya i know that bout collinite, its awesome stuff. maybe ill just stick to the collinite. thnanks:2thumbs:

If it were me I'd do it the other way around, 845 then NXT....well I would just leave NXT out. 845 will give you months and months of protection, I've never gotten good durability out of NXT. Good luck with whatever you do.

the durability of 845 far surpasses that of NXT. I use 2 layers of 845 on my black car and it comes out fantastic. Deep and wet reflections. As a rule of thumb you always put the more durable product down first as it will create the strongest bond with the paint.

My go-to lately has been 2x 845 and topped with Petes 53. Any nuba will look great over it though as song as it doesn't have a ton of solvents which will weaken the 845.

Long story short OP....skip the NXT and apply 2 coats of 845. You wont be dissapointed.

ya ive been doing the 2 coats of 845 on customers cars, but i remember nxt looking realy good on dark cars. buut if it isnt going to make a difference ill stick with 845. thanks for the opinions guys.

oh no. not the NXT has cleaners again. (I;m on the side of the fence that it does have mild cleaners)

I like collinite all by itself, meaning I don't like adding on top of something else. I think collinite's durability is better when it's applied to straight up clean paint, not on top of another sealant.

I also agree NXT does look great on dark colors. Durability isn't too shabby either but not like collinite.

IMO to put 845 on top of anything that is less durable then 845 is counter productive. I use 845 for its durability, 2 layers and done nothing on top and nothing but well prepped paint underneath.

Remember NXT is a sealant therefore it gives the wet slick sealant look and feel that a wax, like 845 genrally doesn't.
