Nu Finish Cling Instant Detailer

If it was, a lot of people here would be using it, IMO. Thats what Collinite is for. Im just very skeptical of their lineup.

Ditto that and the reason figured would ask on here.

I dunno, the Autopia community may not have the most even coverage OTC products. :argue

Nufinish products do sell, so there must be some people happy with them.

There are plenty of people using OTC products. NXT, UC, DGAW, mf's... I think OTC are pretty well represented here.

Just because something sells, doesnt mean its good. And sure there are people happy with it. But are they really caring for their car the way they should?

I've seen it for sale at Autozone. To be honest I'm kind of interested in picking up some NuFinish Paste Wax, to see if it would be some kind of super durable finish for the winter time.

I've used NuFinish a few times back in High School 15+ years ago and it wasn't anything special. Buy Collinite 476 for a good winter coat. Might even like it enough to use all the time on your car. I find it works best on silver/gray tone cars and does good job on other colors.

By dad swears my Nu finish.... It gives a nice shine, but nothing special..:LOLOL I would take NXT over Nu finish...

Just ordered Collinite 945, and 476 will be my next wax to purchase...

Humm... It works best on silver/gray cars, that's great news, because I have a dark slate Altima, and the g/f has a silver Altima... Cant wait to try it out

I like trying new products, and I'm tempted to pick some up. My only fear is that it will be a silicone filled mess, like TW Ice. We'll see.

I just picked up some Cling. It goes on very easy but does not come off so I guess Cling is the right name for it. It just smears the finish. I finally used regular Nufinish to get it off the car.

Sure am glad that I never tried it.

I replaced the Cling with ICE from Turtle Wax. They had both the detailer and the regular "wax". Since I am maintaining a 38' rv I am looking for something that will do a decent job and not kill me. The ICE went on very easily and came off easy. The detailer was a little more difficult to remove. The coach looks like new. Now I will see how it holds up.

So I was bored and had to try this stuff. Right out of the bottle, its terrible. If you use more than 1 (very light) spray per panel it turns into a gigantic streaky mess. Other than being steaky it does look very glossy and feels slick. So then I though about how it might work watered down. The answer is very well!

The bottle has a childproof cap, but if you squeeze it hard and turn you can get it off. I poured a bit into another bottle and mixed it with an equal amount of distilled water. Now it works great! Decent looks and pretty darn slick. Now if the durability is as good as they claim, it will be a steal at $6 for 30oz.

This is the directions for use from their website:

DIRECTIONS

wash and dry car > apply sparingly with damp cloth to one area at a time with circular motions > let dry to a haze > wipe with clean dry cloth, turning frequently

That sounds like the directions for the wax. Their video certainly contradicts that.

The big gripe seems to be it streaks and its hard to wipe off. By cutting the product with water it seems to alleviate those issues.

I'm planning on comparing its durability to the king of the hill, OCW.

sounds like the problems i had with AA wash and wax detailer, maybe some dilution would make it useable as a detailer.
