Very impressive display. It is hard to believe it was 10 years ago - I remember it clearly, and yet until all the to-do surrounding the anniversary, it is easy to not think of the day - the horror seeing people leaping from the buildings to their death, and the horrific devastation. I guess it is a defensive mechanism - not to want to recall thiose memories. Yet we need to force ourselves to do so to spur whatever actions we can take to ensure that it never happens again. It is a fine line - to balance the "inconvenience" of things like screenings (but don't get me started - I think they are highly ineffective), profiling (yep - argue the civil righrts aspects but you cannot argue the ultimate effectiveness despite the highly charged political rhetoric), with the way Americans want to live their lives. I struggle to get a grip on how much freedom we are willing to give up in the name of keeping our country safe from these acts of terrorism. Can we really protect ourselves effectively? It is a terrible conundrum.
