NoTouch for tires?

Anyone got knowledge of something called NoTouch for tires? A guy on another forum recommended it as something cheaper to use rather than 303. I just tried 303, and I like the satin look.

Not a big fan of the no-touch products myself. Usually too greasy/shiny for my tastes. It's a personal thing. :nixweiss
 
I had the same reaction as Brad B. Tried the No Touch tire product a while back and didn't care much for the shiny look.

how bout touching the no touch a little to buff it down?



I used to use it way back when I got my first car, haven't tried it since. As long as you like it and it doesn't seem to harm your tires, I don't see why not.
 
No-Touch products usually give a tacky look to tires. For a clean, professional look go with a low-sheen product for your tires. :xyxthumbs
 
I always reserve 303 for the interior due to price. I buy Meg#40 by the gallon for my tires. About $22/gallon or $2.75/16 oz. bottle (still by the gallon). Way cheaper then Armor All type stuff. Meg#40 and 3M's Vinyl & Rubber both give a real nice, subdued satin black look. But I've never found the 3M product by the gallon locally.
 
In addition to the shine that many don't like, No-Touch is an aerosol.



You end up with overspray on the wheels and body panels.



I'll stick with a liquid applied to a foam applicator instead.
 
I tend to like the look of Vinylex on tires. I used #40 and it wasn't too bad but I like the more matte look of Vinylex.
 
i use the no touch... on my wheel wells. it makes the wells look really dark and black. don't care much for it on the tires though.
 
works really well on my truck. since i have to drive in mud all the time it is nearly impossible to keep my wheel wells looking good but no touch really makes them look good and it's easy too, just spray and walk away:D
 
For trucks, aerosol is the only way to go, I have BFG A/Ts and I tried to use Gel once, and to get it between all the lugs of the tires and raised lettering will take at least an hour. Then you have to buff it off!
 
With the big lug tires you can always use a liquid (303, #40, etc.) and small sponges. Or the Eagle One Tire Swipes work with a little patience. But far and away the best thing to use are those small sponge painting tools. Kinda a little wedged sponge on a round stick. Can get different sizes for the sidewall and then smaller for in between the lugs and knobs. You can then paint the tire with protectant and not worry about overspray and getting the stuff on the rims. But I always feel stupid going to craft stores and buying them so I make the wife do it:rolleyes:
 
I use those craft sponges all the time for detailing. If you have an AC Moore in your area, they frequently run specials of 20 for $1.00. I always stock up...
 
I use no touch because I got it cheap on clearance somewhere...needs to be buffed in after spraying or it will sling like it is nobody's business...I like it though, it is a safe product too!
