notice that 3m is now selling edge pads

I just got a notice by email that 3m is now selling the edge pads and adaptors. so went to 3m and all i see are the 8 inch pads for sale no 6.5 at all ??? . Makes you wonder what 3m may be doing cause most of us all use the 6.5 inch pads

no flex was listed at all on the 3m site. nor at the link i posted up. I just sent a e-mail to 3m asking if they were going to sell smaller pads and also the same message to the link. Guess i will have to get what edge pads i can from other dealers till they are gone.
 
I wouldn't be so sure that the smaller Edge sizes aren't still being made, just because they don't show them on the 3M e-commerce site. I'm quite sure that's not the main distribution channel for 3M products. I am pretty sure that the Flex adapter won't be sold anymore, just too hinky for a big company like 3M to sell something that they would have to buy from Flex and modify. I suggested in another thread that we try to do a group build on it.
 
3M is and will be selling the Flex adapter, they have just not gotton around to publishing it on their retail site. I am sure that will be comming in a few weeks as there is still an inventory of those finsihed adapter plates in stock now.
 
Thanks for posting that, er...Edgy? I had been checking every day, but I gave up. Do you think there will be continued availability after the exisiting inventory is depleted? We appreciate your input!

I know a guy who owns a machine shop i think he could make then . i have one i can give him to look at just need it back for my flex.

Well, we would need the proper Edge adapter, which IIRC there was some problem with the threads. Plus, this is all moot if there will be continued availability from 3M.

Ive never used an edge, and truthfully I couldnt tell you the last time I used a 6.5"!
