Not your everyday detail...

If you are looking for a write up on a exotic car you can hit the "back" button now, but if you are in for a something a little different read on!

This is the first time I have been asked to detail a piece of heavy equipment. It was actually a lot of fun to work on, and for a piece of machinery it cleaned up pretty good. The customer had it in at the service shop where they steam cleaned the outside so it came to me relatively clean. I did a brush wash on it first and then polished it out (some by Makita and some by hand) and topped it with Poxy. The interior was not part of the deal but we cleaned it up a little bit anyway. Total time was about 7 hours.

50/50 of fender

Wheels were cleaned and sealed. Tires dressed.

This is freaking awesome! This will certainly make the owner and operater proud. And i bet the tractor will be treated better, too. Which will make it last longer. And that makes money. WIN!

Now that's how it's *SUPPOSED* to look!!! :chuckle:

The owner/operator obviously takes good care of his equipment. He said he likes to detail it a couple times a year and it shows.

Awesome work! I'm actually kinda surprised at the quality of the paint on that thing....

Every surface was different material...fiberglass fenders, some painted steel, vinyl decals on the top of the hood...

Nice job, really cleaned up nice!

Thanks Scott. The dumptruck you did a few months ago was my inspiration!

Man you are dipping into my area now! Looks great, but that heavy equipment stuff can be a real PTIA sometimes.

I am looking at getting a hot water pressure washer for my mobile rig to do on-site equipment cleaning when it is slow at the shop. Do you get a lot of heavy equipment jobs in your area?
